HERITAGE ENFORCEMENT SECTION
Function of the Enforcement Branch
1. Responsible for carrying out control and monitoring to ensure heritage sites and heritage objects are in good condition.
2. Responsible for ensuring that all heritage details are monitored and checked in accordance with the provisions of Section 39, Act 645.
3. Ensuring that every planning permission application at heritage sites and National Heritage sites complies with the provisions of Section 40, National Heritage Act 2005 [Act 645].
4. Responsible for conducting investigations for prosecution if any offense occurs under the provisions of Act 645.
5. Responsible for ensuring that the excavation of heritage objects, the export & import of heritage items, the excavation and salvage of underwater cultural heritage and heritage item dealers comply with the provisions of Act 645.
6. Responsible for evaluating and processing all license applications under Act 645, namely:
- Heritage Object Excavation;
- Import and Export Heritage Details;
- Underwater Cultural Heritage Excavation and Salvage; and
7. Responsible for ensuring that Act 645 is applied and complied with in accordance with the provisions of sections 98, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107 and 108.
